Keep up to date with  our Club Calendar:

Chester Aikido Club Calendar
Chester Aikido Club - Covid 19 Class Protocols

Some important points to consider as we look to restart classes on Tuesday 18th August and Friday 21st August. (No Saturday class or kids classes until further notice).  Please note that due to changes in official Government guidelines this date has been changed from that of 4th August originally advertised.

  • Classes will start at 7.30 pm and are for adults only. There will be a normal finish time but this will include some clean down of the dojo that all will be required to participate in.

  • You will be required to fill out the new club contact form when you return to practice.

  • The classes will be focused on no contact weapons work (in order to help observe social distancing) and members should bring their own weapons as we are unable to safely lend weapons at this time.

  • Ensure weapons are sanitised before and after use

  • Face masks/visors will be required to be worn by all members attending classes.

  • AS Per JAC guidelines, if you are exempt from wearing a mask due to medical reasons, proof in the form of a letter from your doctor written to your instructor will be required (we will require a copy for our records).  A generic or self-written document is not acceptable. If you cannot prove that you are exempt, you may not practise without a mask.  There are no exceptions.

  • Your BAF Membership MUST be up to date to attend class (Please contact us via aikido@heritage-smith.co.uk If you are unsure about your membership)

  • If you or anyone in your household displays any symptoms you are NOT to attend the dojo.

  • If you have a temperature above 37.5C you will not be permitted to practise.

  • Cleaning and sanitation equipment station will be provided including special mops for the mats.

  • Everyone will clean the mats before and after our use.

  • Only one club will be using the facility on any day so there will be no cross over of people. The rule for everyone is reasonably wipe down after each club use. The facility will arrange a deep clean every Sunday.

  • To assist with keeping costs down we ask if anyone can donate any sanitation supplies, wipes, paper towels or other equipment and to please bring this along. There will be enough to get us started but we will always need more.

  • The changing room, kitchen and toilets will be closed (except the toilet near the entrance door which will be open. Please keep this tidy and clean after each use).

  • We will monitor attendance to allow track and trace if anyone reports symptoms.

  • Online bank payments will be used to avoid cash handling. Please do not bring cash to the class.

  • Please come along in your kit as changing rooms will be closed and be sure to bring your own weapons.

  • As the chairs will not be available, spectating will not be permitted.

All members will be asked to fill in a new information form for the club.

Please let us know if you intend to attend as we will need to check numbers and availability for each class. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
